My cousin is inviting me to her son's First Holy Communion? - first holy communion invitation cards
I know they have family, but never talked to each other and only slightly. I think the invitation because it "asks a gift."
What are your thoughts? You can certainly afford to make a gift and not invite us if it was us.

I can not with such situations. My mother used to insist on the invitation of the family is not new and not spoken for years in these events. I'm not going to them and me.
Maybe your cousin is under pressure to invite you (no offense) for his family. Ultimately, if you do not, do not go to or are about it uncomfortable - do not go. Simply that you have plans or something, has been increased.
Do not look like that. See how you spend more time with his family and to speak with you.
no gifts to my family for a first communion. It is a sacred moment to celebrate with family and close friends. If you receive a gift, then it is to do religion as a personal Bible. In addition, a group of families in my family, the same sect of Christianity (Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Anglican, Anglicans, Pentecostals, would be non-denominational, etc.), a gift for a religious group is not appropriate for another. We have just witnessed the event in the right temple with the family and then taken home to a big party to celebrate a milestone in the lives of children and the connection with the family.
WOW, I am not Catholic, so I am not at all, but insiders are willing to give a gift or not to be granted
Most people are a group of people at events like this to show your child
If you decide to go, remember, be nice and safe, talk to the child because it is a great day for him
